CAPE TOWN’S FEBRUARY EVENTS FIESTA


Cape Town continues to take advantage of the beautiful summer weather with yet another bustling events calendar during the month of love. 

The City of Cape Town is providing support to at least 21 events taking place in the Mother City this February.

Cape Town 10s

 
South Africa’s biggest social sport and lifestyle event, the Cape Town 10s, kicks off an exciting month of events on Friday, 2 February 2024.

The two-day festival features six sporting codes including rugby, netball, dodgeball, padel, water polo and a 5km charity run on Saturday morning.

When all the games are done, participants will wind down with the help of 15 live music acts across three different stages, including Jack Parow, Spoegwolf, Fokofpolisiekar and DJ PH.

KKKA Kaapse Klopse Competitions

 

Also taking place this month are there KKKA Kaapse Klopse Competitions at the Athlone Stadium.

Featuring various minstrel troupes affiliated to the Kaapse Klopse Karnival Association, the event will transform one of Cape Town’s iconic venues into a mosaic of colour, dance and music.

Betway SA20

 

MI Cape Town Fan with Flag at Newlands


On the same day, local cricket franchise MI Cape Town will be hoping to boost its chances of getting into the Betway SA20 league playoffs when they take on the Pretoria Capitals at Newlands, at 13:30.

The match is almost sold out but you can still get tickets to that game here.

Tickets for the SA20 league playoffs are also selling fast. Cape Town is also set to host the tournament’s season 2 final on 10 February in a partnership between the City of Cape Town and the SA20 League. The final is already sold out but you still can catch the action on Supersport Cricket

Maynardville Open-Air Festival

Investec Cape Town Art Fair

 

Investec Cape Town Art Fair

 
 

Featuring over 375 artists from four continents and with over 100 leading galleries participating, the Investec Cape Town Art Fair is the largest art fair on the African continent which brings the international art world together.

With 24 events across various venues over three days, the art fair will cut across aspects of the artistic experience including high quality exhibitions, discussions, awards, and tours exploring Cape Town’s vibrant art and culture.

International Public Art Festival

 

The International Public Arts Festival(IPAF) gives residents and visitors an opportunity to explore Cape Town through public art.

For five days, the Company’s Garden is transformed into an open-air art space with large-scale artwork installations, pop up performances at the festival hub and busking.

While most of the festival activities are free to the public, the festival is offering guided public art tours from R70 per person, allowing tour groups to explore some of Cape Town’s best street murals.

Seafood & Jazz Festival

 

End the summer racing season off in style with a festival of filled with stellar racing, live jazz entertainment, and a gastronomic feast of seafood and sushi.

A perfect fusion of the smooth jazz notes, delicious seafood and heart-pounding horseracing.

Gates open at 11am with limited space available. Admission is absolutely free with access passes.
