Cape Town International Hockey Tournament Returns
The countdown is on.
In just four days, Cape Town will once again come alive with the sound of whistles, cheering crowds, and the excitement of one of South Africa’s biggest youth hockey tournaments.
Hartleyvale Stadium in Observatory, along with five other venues, will be the hub for turf battles, close contests, incredible skills and last-minute drama from 22 July 2026.
For five action-packed days, some of the best young players from South Africa and beyond will bring that energy to the field as they compete for glory in the Cape Town International Hockey Tournament.
Last year’s tournament delivered memorable moments and worthy champions.
Reddam House claimed the Elite Girls title after defeating Namibia’s St. Paul’s College in the final, while SACS secured the Elite Boys crown. In the Evolve Section, Hoerskool Swartland and St. Paul’s College emerged victorious.
Race for championship
With the top honours in the Elite divisions staying local, this year’s teams will be eager to challenge the defending champions and make their own mark on the tournament.
The big question is: who will rise to the occasion and lift the trophies in 2026? There’s only one way to find out.

But that was last year.
This year 64 Under-19 teams arrive with one goal – to write their own story. New stars will emerge, new rivalries will be born, and new champions will be crowned. The only way to find out who will lift the trophies is to be there when the action unfolds.
Now celebrating 21 years of hockey excellence, the tournament has become a highlight on the youth sporting calendar, attracting players, coaches, families, and supporters from across the country and beyond.
Over the five days, more than 200 matches will be spread across UCT, SACS in Newlands, Pinelands High School, Central Hockey Club in Athlone and the Western Province Cricket Club in Rondebosch, turning the city into a festival of hockey.

Best of all, entry is completely free.
Whether you’re a passionate hockey supporter, a parent cheering from the sidelines or simply looking for an exciting winter outing, the Cape Town International Hockey Tournament offers something for everyone.
So, gather your family and friends, pick your team, and get ready for five unforgettable days of sporting action. The future stars of hockey are coming to Cape Town – and their story is about to begin.
Where the next generation of hockey stars begins-and where visitors can experience the very best of Cape Town both on and off the field.
