Festive Lights Switch On
It’s that time again for the most anticipated free, and family-focused open-air event of the year: the Festive Lights Switch-On.
The Mother City’s beloved annual tradition welcomes the start of the summer and festive season.
Inviting locals and tourists alike to come together in celebration of Cape Town’s culture, creativity and community spirit.
In its 56th edition, this year’s powerful theme as ‘United in Hope’ is a call for collective optimism, resilience, and connection.
As always, the event will offer a safe and family-friendly atmosphere with the magical transformation of the city streets into a display of twinkling lights and colorful decorations.
Headlining the 2025 celebration is none other than DJ Zinhle, bringing her signature house and Amapiano beats to the heart of the city.
The stellar line-up also features an incredible mix of home-grown talent, including GoodLuck, Kurt Darren, Tarryn Lamb, Karabo Mogane, Early B & Justin Vega, The Heavenly Quartez, and crowd-favourite DJ Masoodah, ensuring something for everyone.
Hosts, Joe Barber and Carl Wastie will keep the energy flowing, along with a special appearance by Bubblegum and Boera Jules.
