The Jive Funny Championship is Cape Town’s premier stand-up comedy talent search, aiming to discover and showcase the city’s next big comedic stars.
Taking place over a four-week period, the weekly winner goes through to the finals where the top contestant will win a chance to perform at the 2025 Jive Cape Town Funny Festival.
For years the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival has brought acts from all over the world to perform on its stage, but it has also shown us a range of amazing local comedic talents. One of the objectives of this festival is to discover young up-and-coming comedians from Cape Town and give them a chance to show off their funny alongside the star-studded cast.
Come check out the young talent from all walks of life – from the people who keep their friends laughing and those who create funny videos online, to the undiscovered comedians playing the stand-up underground circuit.
