KKKA Minstrel Competition

The drums are warm, the banjos are tuned, and the satin is pressed for the KKKA Minstrel Competition. The Kaapse Klopse season races toward its big finish.

Troupes perform over consecutive Saturdays, culminating in the Section 1 Finals and Section 2 Finals

Categories for the KKKA Minstrel Competition include Grand March Pass, Klopse Jol, Best Dressed Troupe, Juvenile and Senior Drum Major. They also include Juvenile and Adult Sentimental, Female Sentimental, English Combined Chorus, Afrikaans Moppie Song, Juvenile Combined Chorus, and Best Band.

The Cape’s finest troupes will give everything they have. They offer sharp harmonies, thundering brass, show-stopping choreography, and costumes that sparkle like the Mother city lights.

Only one troupe will walk away with the title.
