Open Book Festival

Since its inception, Open Book Festival has created safe spaces where diverse communities can engage in meaningful conversations and explore some of the challenges we face as South Africans and global citizens.

This vibrant literary event gathers authors, readers, and literary enthusiasts for a 3-day celebration of literature.

Featuring author panel discussions, readings, poetry performances and more, the Open Book Festival nurtures the art of storytelling, so that we can all gain a better understanding of each other and promote empathy.

During December 2024, the Festival launched an exciting new initiative – Open Book Online! This series brings bookworms regular doses of engaging and insightful discussions, and immersive literary experiences leading up to the main Open Book Festival in September 2025.
