Red Bull Flugtag

Red Bull Flugtag returns to the iconic V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, bringing with it a wildly entertaining spectacle of flight, fun, and fearless creativity.

This one-of-a-kind event challenges teams to design and build human-powered flying machines, which are then launched off a platform and into the chilly harbour waters below.

With points awarded for distance, showmanship, and creativity, it’s less about engineering genius and more about bold ideas, outrageous costumes, and crowd-pleasing flair.

Cape Town last hosted Red Bull Flugtag in 2012, drawing over 200,000 spectators—and this year’s edition promises to be even bigger, bolder, and more hilarious.

The waterfront will transform into a festival of flight with food stalls, music, and interactive zones to keep the whole family entertained.
