The 6th Global Safe Sport International Conference marks the first time this event is held in Africa.
Built around the theme of moving from commitment to implementation, the conference brings together researchers, policymakers, administrators, athletes, and practitioners from across the globe to advance safeguarding, athlete protection, and ethical governance in sport.
Supporting UCT’s Vision 2030, the conference positions Cape Town as a continental hub for safe sport research, bridging international policy with practical implementation across African contexts.
The programme features keynotes with 50+ speakers, panels, papers, and workshops, and will officially launch the UCT Safe Sport Research Hub.
Delegates include representatives from the IOC, national committees, federations, universities, and civil society organisations.
