Sanlam Cape Town Marathon

The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is Africa’s first Abbott World Marathon Majors Candidate.

Having successfully completed stage 1 in the candidacy process, the marathon enters its final year of candidacy in 2025.

This global city, fast-paced marathon is suited to a range of running enthusiasts from elite athletes to social runners.

Runners get to soak up Cape Town’s most scenic route and enjoy breathtaking views of Table Mountain, the Atlantic Ocean, famous attractions and historic landmarks.

The marathon features various distance options, including the 10km and 5km Peace road runs as well as three incredible Table Mountain trail runs – 41km, 22km, and 11km.

Join us as we run towards Africa’s first Major.
