kykNET Silwerskerm Festival

The kykNET Silwerskermfees embraces, expands, and celebrates South African stories annually by hosting a content festival in Camps Bay. As a prolific and seminal local industry event, the festival has been stimulating the creation, marketing, distribution and honouring of local films and filmmakers since 2011.

In 2023, the kykNET Silwerskermfees broadened its approach to include documentary, linear television and streaming content. This has opened up immense opportunities for the festival to reach out to a wider captive audience who have access to content through digital satellite broadcasting and internet connectivity. The 12th kykNET Silwerskermfees, taking place in August 2024, will build on this strong foundation.
