Strong Cities Network
Global Summit
The Fifth Strong Cities Network Global Summit will convene mayors and other local leaders, local government practitioners, civil society actors and national and international partners from around the world to showcase on a global scale how cities – whether urban or rural, big or small – are preventing and responding to hate, extremism and polarisation.
The summit gathers more than 220 representatives from local governments, national governments and civil society, including mayors and other senior city officials from more than 115 cities across 50 countries and five continents.
City officials are provided a platform to share innovative approaches for safeguarding human rights and strengthening social cohesion amid consecutive global crises, whether climate change, regional and international conflicts or otherwise, and ways to catalyse and sustain such efforts.
It builds on and will showcase progress made with implementing priority areas and learnings from the Fourth Global Summit, held in New York City in September 2023.
