Italy in Town: A group of people with wine glasses in hand enjoy a day out at a festival

ITALY COMES TO CAPE TOWN

 

This November, Cape Town will embrace the charm and elegance of Italy with the inaugural Italy in Town.

A vibrant celebration of Italian culture, the event will showcase the country’s rich heritage through its world-renowned food, wine, fashion, music, and art.

Whether you’re a lover of authentic Italian food, passionate about Italian fashion, or eager to experience vibrant music and art, the event offers something for everyone

The Consulate of Italy in Cape Town will host the festival over two days at Cape Quarter in De Waterkant in partnership with the City of Cape Town.

Italy in Town, taking place on 23 and 24 November, aims to bring an authentic Italian experience to the broad Cape Town public.

The two-day event will immerse Capetonians and visitors into Italian music, culture, cooking labs and wine tastings,

In addition to the numerous market stalls offering artisanal and authentic gastronomic products, visitors will be entertained by music performances and widespread activities.

ITALIAN ART

 

Traveling Italian singer and songwriter Roberta Di Lorenzo is among the acts scheduled to perform. 

Patrons will also have the opportunity to admire ceramic artwork as part of the TazzinArt project, a partnership with the city of Città di Castello.

Italian artists and young art students from Langa helped decorate the ceramic creations, which are up for sale at the festival. 

With a dedicated play area for children, the festival will ensure even the youngest visitors have the best time at the event.  

Italy in Town will run from 10:00 until 22:00 on Saturday 23 November and from 10:00 until 18:00 on Sunday 24 November.
