Loeries Creative Week also includes two nights of awards for the brand communication industry

Loeries Creative Week is returning to the Mother City for a fourth consecutive year this October.

From 7 – 11 October 2024, Cape Town will host Africa and the Middle East’s premier brand communications festival.

Renowned for its top-tier masterclasses, Loeries Creative Week brings about 8 000 innovative thinkers together from over 20 countries to explore cutting-edge trends from key organisations and industry leaders.

Its programme includes seminars by key industry leaders, networking sessions, masterclasses for young creatives and an award show celebrating excellence in the industry.

“It has been an honour for Cape Town to host Loeries Creative Week for the last three years. It has been wonderful to see creatives from across the African continent and the Middle East converge on our beautiful city to celebrate creativity and to share ideas among like-minded people,” says  Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis.

“As an official UNESCO City of Design, Cape Town prides itself in being a metropolitan city that encourages design and creativity. We are looking forward to welcoming the creatives back to our city in October for more inspired dialogue on the creative industries.”

Loeries Creative Week return to the Mother City in 2021 after seven years. In the last three years in Cape Town, the event has hosted over 17 000 creatives and other industry professionals.

In 2023, the festival contributed R139 million to Cape Town’s GDP in 2023 and created employment for 275 people in the city.

“This is an industry that works exceptionally hard to create work that impacts consumers on a daily basis,” says Loeries CEO, Preetesh Sewraj.

“The City of Cape Town truly is a partner to the industry, not only during Loeries Creative Week, but throughout the year by supporting the creation of advertising that is eventually seen throughout the region.”

With its 2024 theme “This is tough. So are you”, the festival recognises the brand communication industry’s  tenacious drive to thrive despite numerous challenges in the pursuit of creative excellence that adds value to the lives of consumers in Africa and the Middle East.

In its partnership with the City of Cape Town, the Loeries aims to showcase Cape Town as a space where world-class creative excellence can be produced.
