MARCH EVENTS IN CAPE TOWN
Cape Town is hosting over 100 major events in March with an anticipated attendance of around 270 000 people.
The Mother City’s diverse calendar is throwing out more exciting events this month including Africa’s premier cycle event, the Mother City’s colourful celebration of creativity, a dynamic mix of sports action and a line-up of musical performances.
Cape Town City FC vs TS Galaxy

The Betway Premiership League showdown is part of Cape Town City FC and the City of Cape Town’s #FreeFootballForAll initiative.
Fans can enjoy this exciting match with free access by redeeming tickets from Cape Town City FC’s offices in Greenmarket Square or at Athlone Stadium on match day.
HSBC Sevens Challenger Round 2
Date: 7 – 8 March 2025 | Venue: Athlone Stadium
Featuring 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams, including the Springbok Women’s Sevens, the HSBC Sevens Challenger is part of the qualification process for an HSBC SVNS Play Off spot in Los Angeles.

Cape Town Cycle Tour

The 47th edition of the Cape Town Cycle Tour will have around 30 000 cyclists will take on the three routes of the world’s largest-timed cycle race from the Grand Parade and Fish Hoek.
The best spectator viewing spots include Mostert’s Mill off Rhodes Avenue (M3), Edinburgh Drive (M3 Wynberg Park), Ladies Mile, Steenberg Road, Bay Road in Muizenberg, Jubilee Square in Simon’s Town, Noordhoek Farm Village, Hout Bay CBD, Camp’s Bay Main Road and the Sea Point Promenade, among others.
Mandisi Dyantyis at Kirstenbosch

Multi award-winning artist and composer Mandisi Dyantyis will bring his Afro-soul and jazz fusion to the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts. Enjoy a soulful performance under the shadow of Table Mountain with your picnic and surrounded by music lovers.

Cape Town City FC vs Marumo Gallants FC

Cape Town City FC will be looking to get its Betway Premiership season back on track when the local team faces Bloemfontein-based Gallants. As part of #FreeFootballForAll, the first 10 000 fans will get in free into the game.
Cape Town Carnival

A celebration of creativity and culture, the Cape Town Carnival features vibrant floats, costumes, and performers from across the city. With free entry and a lively atmosphere, it’s the perfect way to experience Cape Town’s artistic spirit before the winter months arrive.
The DHL Stormers, Drag Cartel, YoungstaCPT, Bravo Le Roux, Paxton Fielies and the City of Cape Town firefighters will join 1500 performers at the 15-year anniversary celebrations.
Absa Cape Epic

The foremost mountain bike stage race in the world will see over 1 000 riders navigate over 700km of rugged terrain and 16,000m of climbing for eight days of non-stop action for the coveted title of Absa Cape Epic champion.
Cape Town Sixes Festival

Where sports meets culture. The Cape Town Sixes Festival provides a weekend filled with cricket, hockey, padel, and golf while also delivering live music, family-friend fun and serving delicious food.
RSAWEB Cape Town Triathlon
Date: 23 March 2025 | Time: 07:00 – 13:00 | Venue: Grand Beach Cafe and Greenpoint Urban Park
Around 800 triathletes will take on the trifecta of swimming, running and cycling along the Atlantic Ocean, the stunning beach road, and run through Greenpoint Urban Park in the RSAWEB Cape Town Triathlon.
Cape Town Surf Pro

Some of the South Africa’s best surfers, including defending champion Paul Sampson, catch waves at the World Surfing League Challenger Series.
SPAR Women’s Challenge

The Cape Town leg of the SPAR Women’s Challenge will see over 16 000 runners take to the streets of Green Point, Sea Point and Mouille Point for an iconic road race celebrating women of all ages and fitness levels.
Ami Faku and Simmy at Kirstenbosch

Ami Faku and Simmy will bring a soulful fusion of Afro-soul and Afro-house for the final installment of the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts for 2024/25.
