RUGBY’S GREATEST RIVALRY: YOUR GUIDE TO MATCH DAY
Cape Town will be awash with the unmistakable green and gold of the Springboks, alongside the black and white of the All Blacks will be seen for Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry.
The two giants of world rugby meet in the latest chapter of the long-standing contest at DHL Stadium on Saturday, 29 August 2026.
The four-time Rugby World Cup champions will be looking to bounce back after their 33–16 defeat to the All Blacks in Johannesburg, with a capacity crowd of 62 000 expected for the 17:10 kick-off.
With the stadium sold out, supporters are encouraged to plan their journey well in advance.
Getting to DHL Stadium
A comprehensive Transport Management Plan is in place to manage the movement of spectators, with the City of Cape Town’s Safety and Security services working alongside SA Rugby and SAPS to ensure a safe and seamless match-day experience.
For those travelling by public transport, a free MyCiTi shuttle service will operate from five locations from 11:30:
Civic Centre
Thibault Square
CTICC
UCT
Bellville Velodrome
The shuttle will use a dedicated, coned-off bus lane to help spectators avoid traffic congestion. The last return shuttle from the stadium will depart at 22:30.
Park & Ride
Official Park & Ride services will operate to and from DHL Stadium, with supporters able to park at designated departure points and travel by bus directly to the stadium.
The service is particularly recommended given the road closures, limited parking and expected congestion around the stadium precinct. Park & Ride tickets include return transport, managed boarding and coordinated services after the match. Availability is limited, so early booking is strongly recommended.

Somerset Mall – Centenary Drive, Somerset West
Stellenbosch/Eikestad Mall – Andringa Street
Tyger Valley Shopping Centre – Corner of Bill Bezuidenhout Avenue and Carl Cronje Drive
Canal Walk – Century City
Table Bay Mall – Sunningdale (Park and Ride SA)
Buses will depart from the selected points between 13:00 and 14:00, as they fill up.
Return services will operate after the match, with the final return bus scheduled to depart no later than 20:00. Supporters can book their Park & Ride ticket online through Park and Ride SA.
Parking
Parking at and around DHL Stadium is limited. However, spectators can park in the CBD and use the shuttle service or FanWalk to Green Point.
The City will make 475 free parking bays available to ticketed rugby fans at the Civic Centre from 11:00, on a first-come, first-served basis. Access is via Hertzog Boulevard incoming and Civic Road.
At UCT, spectators can park on Upper Campus and use the shuttle from the UCT Shuttle North Stop at Madiba Circle.

Free on-street parking in the CBD will be available from 13:00, subject to applicable restrictions.
A dedicated e-hailing facility will operate at P14 on Green Point Main Road, between York Road and Wigtown Road.
Supporters using e-hailing services are encouraged to use this facility to help keep traffic moving around the stadium precinct.
Matchday Road closures
Residents and motorists should expect increased traffic volumes, temporary road closures and restrictions in the CBD, Green Point and around DHL Stadium.
Road restrictions will be in place from 06:00 to 22:30 on Saturday, 29 August and will affect sections of:
Granger Boulevard
Beach Road
Fritz Sonnenberg Road
Stephan Way
Vlei Road
Fort Wynyard Street
Granger Bay Boulevard
Rugby spectators are encouraged to allow plenty of time for their journey. They should also avoid driving to the stadium and alternatively arrive early and soak up the atmosphere.
The stadium gates open at 12:00, giving supporters plenty of time to enjoy the pre-match entertainment.
A range of sponsor activations will be available on the stadium podium, including games, merchandise stores, refreshment stations and beer gardens.
The Fan Village will also feature live music. Marquee artists will perform from when the gates open until 22:30.
With 62 000 supporters expected, Cape Town is preparing for a spectacular day of rugby, entertainment and unmistakable South African gees.
