YOUNGSTACPT, STORMERS, AND MORE AT 2025 CARNIVAL
The Cape Town Carnival is shaping up to be an electrifying extravaganza in 2025, with several big names set to headline the event.
Kaapstad rapper YoungstaCPT is the latest addition to a stellar line-up of artists for the carnival on 15 March 2025.
The lyricist joins fellow musicians Bravo Le Roux and Paxton Fielies who will also be making appearances.
Youngsta made his carnival debut at the 2024 edition, which happens to feature his hit song Lekker as the official carnival anthem.
The artists will be among hundreds of performers who will entertain crowds along the FanWalk on Green Point’s Somerset Road.
With the 2025 edition coinciding with its 15th anniversary, the Cape Town Carnival will reflect on transformation, creativity, and the community spirit that has shaped its first decade and a half.
A CARNIVAL OF COLLABS
In the year of the milestone, the community will expand with several special guests, including the DHL Stormers, joining the festivities.
Cape Town’s beloved rugby team will trade the DHL Stadium pitch for a vibrant float on the FanWalk, bringing their energy to the streets in a new and unexpected way.
The Stormers will take part in the parade on their dedicated “Taking the Cape by Storm” float, featuring a custom soundtrack.
Spectators will have the chance to get up close to their heroes as the float makes its way along the FanWalk.
“As a proud Capetonian, I know how much the Carnival means to the city, so we cannot wait to be part of the 15th anniversary,’ says Stormers captain Dan du Plessis.
“Some of the guys in the squad have already started practicing their moves and are excited to show them off to everyone when we hit the FanWalk.”
The Drag Cartel, a collective of some of the talented members of the city’s vibrant drag scene, joins the already loaded line-up of appearances.
Maxine Wild, Dee Blogging, Diamante Eclipse, Valentina Petronella (LeCap), and Le Baby will light up the carnival with their infectious flair and boundless creativity.
“We’re thrilled that the DHL Stormers will be part of this iconic Cape Town event and bring their unmistakable ‘gees’ to the celebration,” says Cape Town Carnival Board Chair Professor Rachel Jafta.
“With more special guests lined up for 2025, we’re excited to offer an even bigger and better carnival experience. We look forward to welcoming Capetonians, South Africans, and international visitors to this fabulous celebration of art, community, and entertainment.”
Erika Januza also known as the Rio’s Queen of the Drums will join the Cape Town Carnival in March, bringing the spirit of the samba to the Mother City.
