NOVEMBER EVENTS IN CAPE TOWN


Cape Town is in full events mode this November with a line-up that includes King of the Air, the Heineken F1 World Tour, Wines2Whales, Italy in Town, the Festive Lights Switch-On and the Mitchells Plain Festival.

Following a blockbuster opening weekend that drew over 100 000 spectators to the Killarney Motor Show, Liefde by die Dam, and Red Bull Flugtag, the City of Cape Town’s Events Permit Office anticipates a combined 480 000 participants and attendees across November’s events.

The November events action continues with another week that includes an impressive mix of sports, lifestyle, and music across Cape Town.

Khayelitsha Maskandi Festival: 8 November


The annual Khayelitsha
Maskandi Festival provides a a vibrant showcase of traditional Maskandi music, fashion, and heritage.

Taking place at Khayelitsha Rugby Stadium, the festival brings together some of the city’s top acts — including Mshayi & Mr Thela, uGatsheni, Majongosi, Thandazani, Mjolisi, Njoko, Menzi, and DJ Prince.

Running from 11:00 to 22:00, this proudly local event celebrates township pride, cultural unity, and the next generation of Maskandi talent.

FNB Wines2Whales: 9 November


The prestigious FNB Wines2Whales mountain bike race is now in its 16th year, drawing 650 teams from across the globe.

Riders cover approximately 200 km of rugged mountain terrain and tackle 4 500 metres of climbing over nine days.

The race began in Hermanus and concludes this Sunday, 9 November, at Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West, where spectators are invited to cheer on the finishers from 09:00.

Expect a festive atmosphere with live music, food stalls, and local wine on offer.

Red Bull Spot Check:  9 November


On the same day, Cape Town’s streets become a playground for skaters as Red Bull Spot Check turns parts of the CBD and surrounds into pop-up skateparks.

The event features some of the world’s best skateboarders competing at spots chosen by the public — including City Bowl Park, Iziko South African Museum (Company’s Garden), Thibault Square, and the Civic Centre.

The action kicks off at Baseline Skate Shop on Kloof Street from 12:00, before rolling through the various locations. This is a free event, open to everyone.
