Following their clash against Cardiff Rugby at Cardiff Arms Park on Friday 15 May, the Stormers confirmed third place on the URC log with 60 points.

With 12 wins on the board during the regular season, the Cape Side finished among the league’s top five attacking teams after scoring 504 points during the regular season.

The White and Blue hoops now have a date with Cardiff Rugby in the last eight at DHL Stadium on Saturday, 30 May 2026.

The game is set for a 15:00 kick off.

A SEASON FOR THE BOOKS

In the rematch against Cardiff, the Stormers will be aiming to continue an impressive defense that saw the team concede only 48 tries, tied overall log leaders Glasgow Warriors for least amount of tries conceded.

The team also conceded the second least amount of points, just six more points than the Warriors.

In what has been a breakthrough second URC season for utility back Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, who finished as the league’s top points scorer during the regular season with 158 points.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu, along with the Stormers’ exciting and industrious backline, will be key to the Cape side’s hopes during the competition’s knockout phase.

Along with loose forward Evan Roos, who set a historic season-best record with 12 tries in a single season, the Stormers attack is expected to fire on all fronts.

HOME RECORD
TEST

For the clash against Cardiff, the goal will not only to put points on the board but to protect the impressive the Stormers’ URC playoffs record at DHL Stadium.

The Stormers will also take confidence from their impressive playoff record at DHL Stadium, having won five of their six URC knockout matches at the iconic venue.

The blue and white have established themselves as one of the competition’s most consistent teams, reaching the playoffs in each of the last five URC seasons.

They lifted the title in the 2021/22 campaign, finished runners-up in 2022/23 and exited in the quarter-finals in each of the last two seasons.

Recent history suggests the clash against Cardiff could be a thriller.

Cardiff have won three of the last five meetings between the two sides, but Cape Town has remained Stormers territory, with the home side winning every clash against the Welsh outfit in the Mother City.
