DJ ZINHLE HEADLINES CAPE TOWN’S FESTIVE LIGHTS CONCERT
Multi-award-winning music producer DJ Zinhle will headline the Mother City’s biggest open-air concert, to usher in the festive season.
The City of Cape Town’s Festive Lights Switch-On event is hosted annually on the Grand Parade. It spills into Adderley Street and has become the occasion to launch the joyous season.
With thousands, upwards of 90 000 spectators attend, the event transforms the Grand Parade and Adderley Street into a vibrant celebration of music, Christmas lights, and community spirit.
The popular event will bring residents and visitors together under the theme “United in Hope” on 30 November 2025.
A festive line-up
DJ Zinhle, one of South Africa’s most celebrated DJs and producers, will bring her infectious house and Amapiano to get the thousands of people on Grand Parade dancing.
The Mlilo hitmaker will be joined by an impressive list of local talent. This includes GoodLuck, Kurt Darren, Tarryn Lamb, Karabo Mogane, Early B & Justin Vega, and Heavenly Quartez.
DJ Masoodah will be on the decks and will keep the crowd entertained throughout the show.
Adding to the entertainment, crowd favourites Joe Barber and Carl Wastie will host the evening’s festivities, with special appearances by Bubblegum and Boera Jules.
The line-up also features the Cape Town SVNS dancers and the energetic D6 Hanover Minstrel Group. Winners of the Dance Challenge and TikTok Family Dance competitions will bring even more flair to the stage.
The concert is a precursor to the switching on of the Christmas-style lights. These lights illuminate along Adderley Street, Darling Street, and Wale Street. This is a tradition that goes back over five decades.
FLSO Dance Challenge
The Festive Lights Dance Challenge returns this year. It provides an opportunity for some of Cape Town’s crews to showcase their skill.
Interested groups can submit their entries until midnight 9 November 2025.
The top 10 finalists will be invited to compete at the V&A Waterfront amphitheatre on 15 November 2025.
The final dance-off will decide the top three winners, who will walk away with R10 000 for first place, R5 000 for second and R2 000 for third.
These acts will also perform on the main stage on the Grand Parade on 30 November.
